Here’s a beautiful song I came across thanks to www.challies.com.
As we’ve been working through the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5-7, we’ve heard again Christ’s warnings not to live for the praise and glory of man, to be seen and applauded by those around us, but rather, to live for the glory of God, to hear His words of acceptance and approval.
Jesus didn’t warn us against seeking worldly treasures because he was a kill-joy. In fact, that’s the farthest thing from the truth. Jesus wanted our joy to be complete, to be lasting, and truly satisfying. Our souls will never find rest until we rest in God. Our souls will not be satisfied until they are satisfied in Christ.
May your soul long for God.
